The Otters consist of the Reception, Junior 1 and Junior 2 classes. These classes are largely class teacher taught and are situated in a bright, airy wing that includes a computer suite and music and drama facility room.

The pupils in Reception follow a curriculum based on the Early Learning Goals. These are:

• Personal, social and emotional development
  
• Communication, language and literacy
  
• Mathematical development
  
• Knowledge and understanding of the World
  
• Physical development
  
• Creative development

The basis of the curriculum for Junior 1 and Junior 2 is the National Curriculum and the National Numeracy and Literacy Strategies, although these programmes are not rigidly adhered to. Junior 2 are introduced to French through a variety of fun, hands-on activities.
