Junior School Parents' Association - The Constitution
Aims and Objectives
1. The aim of the Association shall be to foster, support and advance the education
and well being of Junior School pupils and the good future of the School. The
principal objectives shall be:
- to provide a means of communication between parents and Headmaster, staff and governors, in no way restricting the liberty of every parent to make individual and direct contact with them;
- to provide a forum for discussion on matters of common interest to parents, staff and the School;
- to allocate funds raised through parental subscription, social activities or other donations, by supporting projects which will benefit the pupils that would not otherwise be funded;
- to incorporate the Junior Events Social Team (JEST) as the organising committee for social activities, in line with their own aims and objectives (listed below).
Membership
2. All parents of current pupils at the Junior School shall be deemed to be members
of the Association, unless they express a contrary wish in writing to the
Headmaster. All members have the right to vote at General Meetings and are
eligible to hold office in the Association.
Subscription
3. One subscription for each family shall be payable. The amount shall be agreed for
the succeeding year by a simple majority at the Annual General Meeting, and
shall be included in the December school fees accounts, payable to Rendcomb
College. This money shall be handed over without deduction, by the College to
the Association.
The Aims and Objectives of the Rendcomb Junior Events Social Team (JEST)
- The team aims to organise social events for the parents, pupils and staff of the Junior School. Invitations may be extended to the college where appropriate. JEST will continue to support College events when invited to do so.
- Events will aim to be self-financing. The Junior School will provide interest free loans in order to finance events where necessary and these will be repaid from takings.
- Any profits from events will be placed in the Junior School Social Events Team account for the financing of future events.
- The team would like to make full use of any skills, ideas and talents that parents, pupils and staff may have to offer towards the successful running of events.
- All meetings are open, that is, everyone is welcome to attend.
- The Headmaster, in advance of any action, will approve all events.
- Minutes will be posted on the Junior School notice board along with the contact numbers of the team.
- At no time will the team seek to influence school policy.
