Curriculum - PSHE & RE

Personal, Social and Health Education with Citizenship is taught in Forms 1 - 5. It has a rich and varied syllabus, which helps our pupils to become caring and responsible adults in society.

The intention is that the PSHE programme will contribute to the pupils' sense of well being and self-esteem. It also includes the development and maintenance of a healthy and safe life-style.

In addition, the syllabus provides the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and help them understand and manage a wider range of relationships as they mature.

The religious education department provides a programme of study that gives an introduction to all pupils in years 7 - 11 to the Old and New Testaments, early church history, ethics and other major religions. The issues covered are appropriately progressively more challenging and designed to develop pupils' spiritual and moral awareness, understanding and toleration.
