Rendcomb College Senior School - Sixth Form Curriculum A majority of our students stay on for AS and A Levels, for which a wide range of subjects is offered. Several new students also join the sixth form at this stage. The sixth form has an excellent academic record, here there is a gradual shift to more independent learning and freedom within a framework. In a small and friendly community, such as Rendcomb, the partnership of student, school and parents thrives. Pupils choose from the following A Level Courses
![]() Most pupils take four AS Levels, normally three of these are continued into the second year at Sixth form. Students are allowed free choice of the above subjects although on occasions the constraints of the timetable might restrict this. These subjects are taught for 7 periods each in the Lower Sixth and eight periods each in the Upper Sixth, in the remaining periods students have private study periods, some of which are timetabled in the Library and two afternoons of sport. Subjects are chosen after an A Level subject evening, after discussion with tutors and if necessary an interview with the Director Studies. 5 G.C.S.E. passes are normally required to enter the sixth form, with a Grade C (preferably a Grade B required to study a specific subject.) |
